Coming off of a disheartening defeat against Columbus Crew SC, Real Salt Lake bounced back on the road against New York City FC at Yankee Stadium.
Three second half goals, including an own goal from NYCFC’s Fredrick Brillant, saw RSL earn their 3-2 victory over NYCFC, while also claiming honors as SBI MLS Team of the Week.
After rookie Jack Harrison opened his MLS scoring account after halftime, RSL responded immediately through Yura Movsisyan, before adding two more before the 75th minute mark. While NYCFC found a late goal, RSL hung on for seventh win of the season, ranking the side third in the Western Conference.
RSL’s impressive second-half performance earned SBI MLS Team of the Week honors over the Philadelphia Union and the Seattle Sounders.
