While D.C. United has officially added a new goalkeeper, a few players suffered injuries the weekend before the start of the 21st MLS season.

New York Red Bulls forward Gonzalo Veron suffered a potential hamstring injury after scoring a hat trick in his club’s 5-1 win over Jacksonville Armada FC on Saturday. He will undergo an MRI on Monday. (REPORT)

D.C. United has reportedly signed U.S. Under-23 Men’s National Team goalkeeper Charlie Horton. The 21-year-old recently played for English club Leeds United. (REPORT)

The Fire, who recently shipped Harry Shipp to the Montreal Impact, announced the signing of 27-year-old John Goossens on Monday. The Dutch midfielder and forward has agreed to a two-year contract with a club option to extend for another year. (REPORT)

Portland Timbers winger Dairon Asprilla rolled his ankle in his club’s preseason match against the Chicago Fire on Saturday. (REPORT)

The LA Galaxy are reportedly interested in acquiring Daniele De Rossi, whose contract with AS Roma runs until the summer of 2017. The five-time MLS Cup champions are allegedly considering offering the 32-year-old $7.6 million (7 million) per year. (REPORT)

Is Goossens a good signing for the Fire? Think Veron will miss time with the Red Bulls?
